Cleveland Basketball is a mess... When Hurricane Lebron left town, he left destruction in his wake. And now, they are team built around a huge superstar that doesn't exist. A Giant Gaping hole, where once stood greatness. The Cavs are all body and no heart. The Team is a mish-mosh of role players and past their prime "potential" studs, that frankly never peaked. The Owner is a Stone-Cold Villian, a mask of sanity he tore off when his Dream fell apart. And the Fans, well those poor fans are angry. No sport held Cleveland together like Basketball when their other teams... the Indians & the Browns, have been shameful for years.
Now, Cleveland has hit a breaking point, the NBA Draft. And for the sake of Basketball, the fans and the city of Cleveland itself, I hope they can hit a home run, cuz god knows their baseball team can't. Unfortunately, with Dan Gilbert behind them, I don't know where his head is or will be. Is he building a new brand? Has he gone completely Darth Vader and let that anger consume him? Or will he make Picks 1 & 4 in the NBA Draft count and in essence save the Cleveland Cavaliers from another Decade of Insignificance? Only time will tell but here is my one opinion on the issue. DO NOT TAKE A PG #1 OVERALL!
All reports and rumors have the Cavs taking Kyrie Irving #1 overall, Why Not you might ask? Simple.
1) How many pure PGs in the league can take over a game, CONSISTENTLY? 3-4? Maybe? I will say Derrick Rose, Chris Paul & Deron Williams. Chauncey Billups & Steve Nash in their primes too. Don't get me wrong there are some great PGs that make their team that much better out there, Jason Kidd, Derek Fisher, Tony Parker... But not many of them have won the ring as the star player. How bout in history of PGs... Magic Johnson, okay, Gary Payton, John Stockton... anymore? Again not many noteable, historic PGs. So what makes Kyrie Irving so special?
2)At Least 3 of the top 10 Prospects are PGs: See Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker & Brandon Knight. All viable draft choices with potential, sure only Kyrie is off the charts, but is he worth losing another off the charts player.
3) Derrick Williams is available. A large, physical, smart PF with a great shot midrange and a decent 3Pt Shot to boot.
I am the Cavs owner, for the most value and stability for next year this is my draft:
1) Derrick Williams (Explosiveness is crazy, he could be a future Garnett or better)
2)----
3)----
4)Whoever is left of the 3 Top PGs... Because obviously 1 will be there, and statistically speaking pick 2 or 3 will be used on some over-hyped, Euro Baller, leaving 2 great options at Pick 4 for PG.
Please don't Harikari yourselves Cavs, Gilbert. Do the right thing....

Why the NBA will NOT go to the Hard Salary Cap
This one is short, sweet and to the point...
Everyone has said what Miami has done to Basketball is "inexcusable" and that they are "...ruining the NBA..."
But let me drop this little piece of knowledge for you, According to ESPN,
"...ratings for the NBA Finals remain as high as they've been in the last seven years."
So, Hate them or Love them, people are not tuning in to watch Dirk Nowitzki and his bunch of Veteran role players... they are tuning in to see if Miami can win it all, if their team might be the next to make such a big roster move, If 3 Superstars can win with No Center and Half a PG.
Well keep tuning in folks, because as much as all those Cavs fans "HATE" Lebron James, I guarantee if they love basketball, they're watching... and dare I say, cheering on the inside when he does something amazing.
The NBA is pulling remarkable ratings, people are excited, why would the powers that be break up the ones responsible? They wouldn't.

{NBA} Heat Fans
The fans that sit in the good seats at AAA [Miami's American Airlines Arena] are all rich people who have no interest in basketball. They just sit there and look at the court as if it was the Tv and American Idol was on... Then the camera guy zooms out and the fans in the upper deck are jumping, screaming and waving towels. We need to get the true fans shifted closer to the court... That would give us a true home court advantage... Fans screaming in the opponents ears from 10ft away... Similar to the [Oklahoma City] Thunder. Just make a rule, if you dont scream at the opponent then you can't sit there!

{NBA} Don't Lose Hope...
You know what drives me absolutely nuts? When a fan is watching a game and drops a line in the 3rd quarter that goes something like, "It's over, we stink." Nothing at a sporting event gets under my skin more than pessimism like that. I mean if it's your team and you bleed their colors, you better be in the game until the final buzzer sounds! Is that so crazy of me to believe?
Here is my messages to all you fans out there watching the NBA Playoffs, or any other sport in the future for that matter. Never give up, not until the proverbial "fat lady" sings. Because you are always just one play away from sparking the crowd, creating a rally that leads to an epic run that could lead to the come back of the century. That is what is so amazing about sports, the ebb and flow of momentum and how in one second, upon one play, everything can change.
Hey New York Knicks fans! Yeah, you, I know you like to grumble about your team blowing it... But it isn't even close to finished yet. Phil Jackson once said "A playoff series doesn't begin until the Home team loses." Never were there truer words. New York lost extremely close games to the Celtics in one of the toughest arena's to play an away game at in the NBA. The first loss came on an incredible shot from one of the best pure shooters to ever step onto an NBA court, Ray Allen. And, the second loss, came in a game where two of the Knicks "big three" were out of the game!
Keep hope alive Knicks fans, all you have to do is win 2 in MSG and the series begins all over again. And I will keep hope alive too, that not only the Knicks pull through, but that my Miami Heat keep on pushing, that they don't believe it's over either. Even more importantly, I will keep my hopes alive that in round 2 of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Heat-Knicks Rivalry will be reignited and the matchup I spent my childhood watching, will return giving this basketball enthusiast, a reason to pay for those outrageously overpriced tickets to a Miami Heat Home Game.

{NBA} "That's Debatable" Lebron/Wade Vs. Lebron/Rose
Here is our very first "That's Debatable," proposed by our very own Dr. Hoops Let's Get it On!
Dr. Hoops: Which guard would you pair up with The King if you had a choice? My gut says wade - he is a proven champion. But rose is more of a point guard and might allow for a more structured offense.
